Stainless Deck / Cladding Screws Deal

Morning all,

I know a number of people on here are currently building sheds/man caves/workshops etc. I was staggered by the price of stainless screws for affixing the cladding etc so have been surfing eBay for a while hoping for a bargain. There is a chap currently selling boxes of Swan Secure #8 x 60mm x 3000 for £40 including postage. I've ordered one, yet to arrive, and although it seems too good to believe i had to highlight it to you folks in case you're also trying to save some spend on your build! A factory fresh box is on Amazon for $400!

Keep your fingers crossed that I've not just bought the empty box or some other scam!

If they are the real swan brand from the US thats very good -I will investigate as I buy boxes of a 1000 for glazing roof bars as the pozi ones that come with the bars are carp.

Off tack a little - if you suggested to a NZ chippie (where decks are everywhere) that he screwed down decking, he'd laugh his socks off - they always, always nail them.

I was planning on nailing my cladding on, mainly due to cost reasons that stainless nails are cheaper than screws, but I've had a few complaints from the neighbours over my incessant banging so when I saw these i saw a cost saving and a noise reduction opportunity.
