Hi all.

I quite fancy cladding the front face of my block built garage to dress it up a bit, I'd like the cladding to run vertical rather than horizontal.
I don't want loglap or feather edge, I have seen some T&G spruce this weekend which is okish for the price and am toying with the idea of using that.

The cladding wont be in contact with the ground just fixed to horizontal battens at 600 odd centres, I can shield the top edge with some sort of capping. In real life I will probably maintain it every 2/3 years - cos I'm lazy :)

Anybody think it will last ok? or is it doomed to rot in 2 years

Cheers!

You don't give any idea of what finish you're using... But unless its pressure treated or incredibly well painted and maintained it'll last no time at all.
