I have tried to imitate the spash made by a drop of water in turning this piece of cherry.

There is a continuous curve from the outer edge to the bottom of the bowl. The central spike (in spalted beech) represents the remnants of the drop that returns vertically. The bowl is approx 12" in diameter and 2.1/2" high to the rim and 6" to the top of the spike. The outer edge is approx 1" off the standing surface.

Quite tricky to get the continuous curve, but I am pleased with the overall result.
