This one the timber is an unkown, came marked as redgum??? doubtful if it is. Still it didnt turn out to bad. Finished DO and a light buff. 6.5"x4.5".

I like the shape and I like the wood and it certainly looks well finished, but I'm not sure they go together.
I generally prefer the decoration of the wood not to hide the beauty of the grain and prefer such decoration to be on plain timber...

the timber does not have allot of figure, so spirals is one way to add to it and if you cross the grain against the spiral it tend to enhance the effect.

I like the way the angle of the ribbing complements the angle of the grain, as well as the detailing overall.

Suspect the finish will be immaculate as ever Hughie, very nice.
