Hi everyone
About 20 years ago I was bought a drill powered drill bit sharpener made by Martek. There are 2 types - mine has a frame which holds the drill in place, whereas the other type just has the driving shaft sticking out and is shorter. It comes with a white abrasive wheel for twist drills and a green wheel for masonry bits. I've used it quite a bit for sharpening twist drills using the white and this has now too worn to be useable.

Does anyone know of suppliers of these wheels? It has to be the correct type of Martek, as the shorter version uses smaller diameter wheels. I've tried searching online but no success yet. Any ideas?

Well now, over 50 people have viewed this topic but no replies, so it looks like other people may have the same problem but no solution. I was thinking perhaps to see if I could get an oversize, wide wheel and make it fit - turn a bush to match wheel centre and sharpener, and use a diamond dresser or similar to reduce the outer diameter. Seems like a lot of fiddling for something so basic, but I miss the sharpener - I think it was a very neat tool.

Posting a picture might help see if there's anything similar you could adapt to fit. I browse the forum mostly on my phone so if there isn't any pictures or links to click on then unfortunately I just skim over it.
Best of luck though ;-)

to be fair, i looked out of interest, so shouldnt be counted in the number with the same problem but no solution.

good luck in your quest though.
