Well i've still got me lathe and managed to get ten Sierras turned all in Burr Oak.
Finished with friction polish and Microcrystaline wax.

That looks a good set Paul, shame to split them up.

Well done on handling the Burr, not the easiest to tackle after a break from the production stakes.

I cut up about fourteen blanks and just had one break up on me which wasn't bad looking at some of em.
I also filled the voids this time with the dust from the turnings.
 
That's A Nice collection of pens there Paul I like filling The Voids With brass or Copper powder it does give The timber a nice interesting effect and Some nice figuring but to be fair you nailed them they are a nice pile of pens with a real good finish.

I have never used any other fillings before tending to keep the wood looking natural but i think on things like pens it would look good,so might give it a go in the future. :wink:
