Nice. Very nice. I don't know how big your lathe is or whether it's variable speed, but I did a couple of stunning ones (given away) deliberately off centre so as to get bigger bark inclusions and more sapwood that were very pretty. You have to have the capacity and the capability, though. I assume you bored the hole and turned around it?
 
Yes, a bit more maybe. There's only one, the second picture is the back. Phil I did start with lots of inclusions but kept going as the grain was a bit boring.

Did you ground the bulb holder?

I think with any other wood it would be too simple, but yew being yew I think there's enough going on to keep it interesting. and yes it's earthed!
