I need to build some shelves for my hand tools
they are going in my shed \ office \ workshop
dimensions 2m H x 1.8m W x 150mm D

I have some hardwood timbers I can rip down to 150mm x 25mm x 2m

what would be best way to build please?

I assume they need a back to hold it all together ....I prefer not as would loose that thickness from my 150mm...is there another option ?
dado shelves or shelf support thingies ?

thanks in advance

Steve

For the workshop I go to wickes and buy the grey pressed steel shelf brackets. If I want to go posh I buy the white ones. I would never waste hardwood to make shelves when there is cheap pine available

If you can't find anything for free for workshop shelves, flooring grade chipboard is very good.

I have the hardwood laying around...they are 100 yr old loft boards...maybe ash or chestnut...I will have to machine as they are 14" wide
I have no other use for the timber
they made nice doors :D
