Just fancying having a play with it.

Where from guys? Do I have to buy flakes and mix it myself, if so what is recommended for the mix? All I get when I search is nail varnish.....nice colours but the brushes are a bit small!

smith and rodger.

You dont have to mix it yourself, but the mixed has a shelf life of about 12 months. I like it as a finish, and just bought some button polish ready mixed in the smallest bottle they did. This was the project that i bought it for pippy-oak-box-t64412.html?hilit=oak%20button

Now that i have had a play, i will buy flake next time. I dont believe it to be difficult to mix. It is worth getting a decent brush to apply it with- i got a squirrel hair mop from rosemary and co. info in shellac-based-polishes-t71633.html?hilit=%20rosemary

whatever you do, buy from somewhere that shifts some stock- eg Smith and Rodger, Pennys, Axminster etc. some of these local hardware shops have it sat on shelves for months, reducing the shelf life to almost nothing by the time you buy it.
