Just finishing a 5ft by 5ft shed for the bikes, shiplap cladding and framing in 2 by 3 rough cut, all timber is treated, has the slight green tinge, according to the yard it is all Scottish grown. From working with it it does seem to soak up impressive amounts of water :?

I'd like to give the wood a finish, ideally a light one as it reduces light to the kitchen. I'd like the timber to 'breath' so thought of milk paint or lime white wash. Never used either but am thinking about them for a house build so would like to play with them. The Beloved would like an oil finish as she likes to see the grain of the wood.

I am not sure:
A If the treatment of the wood would affect these finish's.
B How they would stand up to the Scottish Highlands weather

We have a toddler so don't want any super nasty type finish's. He actually ate part of a wooden window frame the other day

Thank you for your ideas

Have a look at Bedec Barn Paint, quick google search brings it up.
