hi all, thankyou for all your responses.
the bowl is made from american black walnut and maple. think there is 246 peices. as for time would guess at 10-12 hours bit here and there really.

not really any good at typeing how to do it. best advice i can give is get dale. l. nish's book on ray allen.its fantastic. also have a look here

http://www.turnedwood.com/index.shtml.

i picked the best ideas from both and had a go. used a chop saw rather than a table saw tho. never sanded to fit either found the joints were good enough.

Thank you Lugo for the chance to collect peoples thoughts on your efforts, I can only repeat what i said about it in the projects thread,

"Beautifully executed and finished Lugo, I like the proportions and the balance of the central banding. Also the collar highlight."
