Saw Handle

Has any one got any designs on making a saw handle and a good wood to use, Ive got some good old saws that have broken handles so fancy having a go a making one.
Have seen some good designs on google with rams head carvings they look good but thing by the time I made the handle I wouldnt chance spoiling it with a failed attempt at carving.
