safe mode win 98??

Hi anyone.

As I`m getting on a bit and the old mem is on the way out I have gone and forgotten how to start the old computer in safe mode. It`s win 98 .The screen has about 6/7 very small desktop displays (to small to read or click on anything) think I may need to reset the settings.
any help will be greatfully accepted.

Norman,

Just hold shift down as the machine boots and it will go in to safe mode.

IIRC hold down the F8 key whilst the PC diplays the message 'Starting windows 98' will give the menu that offers you 'safe mode' - sounds like the graphics driver /settings for the card have been changed

Could be screen resolution right click on desk top .propertys .screen resolution. move slider to a lower one
