At the last Ledbury timber auction I picked up a couple of pieces of apple for the grand sum of £2. It was split all over the place so not much good for woodturning. This weekend I managed to make the first of two of these:

Looks great - especially for the miniscule amount of money that it cost you.

Quick questions - how did you cut / finish the top of the bench? Did you use a chainsaw or have you got a huge bandsaw? Did you plane or just use a belt sander to smooth it off? Just curious...
