please excuse my newbie question
I want to make a temporary table...well i think i do

I would consider myself a hand held competent

I now need a table to do a new project
the router bit i will be using has a bearing follower

do I need a fence?
can i drill a hole in mdf and just bolt my router under the hole and job done?

I have been given a spindle molder that i am not confident in its use

can I rip the guts out of a spindle molder and use it as a router table by bolting my router under it?
or do i get some spindle molder training?

Steve

p.s. this is a one off job

i would sell it if you are unlikely to use it. If you are likely to use it only rarely after training, I would get rid and buy a router table. Router cutters are more affordable for occasional use than spindle tooling. It seems a shame to rip it to pieces for a one off job, when the router in a workman, with a simple mdf base to it will do the job. What are you using it for?

cheers marcros

it is just to run some mdf shaker door rebates
i probably have the molding bits but more comfortable with 1\2" router
