Router bit sizes

I recently bought a 1/4 " router. On th net I bought cutters only to find that while advertised as 1/4" they are in fact 7/16 inches (3.00mm rather than 3.65) and will not grip in my collet. Is there any kind of sleeve I can avail of to correct this?

They might be 3mm to fit a dremel or something, but 3mm isn't a 1/4" anyway, and router cutters don't come in 7/16" or its metric equivalent. Have another measure.

Dremel collet sizes are 0,8 / 1,6 / 2,4 / 3,2 mm as far as I know. So if they are actually 3.2mm they will be for a Dremel with a router attachment. A long way short of 1/4 inch which is 6.35mm
