I'm having to buy a new lathe.

My trusty old axi AWVSL900 has problems with its bearings and isn't powerful enough for my needs. I'm looking at the maxi 1 or killinger km 1400. I did like the stratos lathes sold by Simon hope but it's out of my price range! So which one guys ? I just can't decide so I'm asking for some advice to help with this costly decision.

Thanks everyone :D

The Maxi has more power, greater capacity & is heavier.
I have maintained for some time that the Maxi is the best value for money for it's size & now has an M33 thread.

I will do. I'll send Simon a message and see what he says. The lathes he sells look lovely ! I would love to say with a stratos lathe my turning would go to another level but....... well.... not sure it will?!

I have no experience with the Killinger but have owned my Maxi 1 for a couple of years and love it. So smooth and stable.
