Due to my wife becoming unexpectedly ill and admitted to hospital, I was unable to enter a piece into the Autumn challenge. In an effort to challenge myself to complete all of the challenges this year, I found some time to devote to a piece that was brewing in my head. I wanted something with a truly Canadian theme due to a number of things (Olympics and the strong sense of Canadiana due to the tragic news surrounding our beloved band The Tragically Hip). This is the end result..... Canadian wood, with the most iconic Canadian symbol, built by a Canadian Farm Boy. It is long leaf willow from a neighbors tree. Finished with spray lacquer. Pierced using a handheld drill and a 1/16" drill bit.
