re-saw assistance needed

Dear all

I have a piece of elm approximately 10" x 5" x 2" which I need re-sawing to approximately 1/4" thick.

The problem is my equipment isn't capable of this.

I was wondering if there was anybody in my area that could help.

I live in the Medway area of Kent and work in Canterbury, so anywhere in between. I travel to Cambridge and Sandy in Bedfordshire fairly regularly.

This is for a project due in July therefore I would like to get this done pretty quickly if possible.

Anyone can help or know where I can get this done.

See if a local saw mill will do it for you, of course they might charge for it.

Are you sure about the sizes you have stated? if they are correct you could post it to me to cut and return in the post or of course you could just use a hand saw / plane so I guess that you mean 10 feet long in which case you could not.

A few years ago, the manager at Jewsons, in Margate, told me that they would resaw some timber for me. It might be worth a try at a Jewsons more local to you.
