Rail square is for making square cuts but you’re talking long parallel cuts where parallel guides will be better.
Personally I usually measure carefully which is close enough for me but I have also fixed a small clamp to a metal rule to act as a stop for repeat cuts.

Both methods work well, the first for a very few pieces, the second for a few more, but when you get to over 20 or so then a parallel guide system is hands down the best option. I use the Festool one as it was the only one available when I got mine. Other makers have ones that maybe as good or possibly better depending on your needs.
