I was wondering if there was such a thing as a pull stroke plane (i.e a Japanese Plane) but with a western style adjustment depth wheel and lateral adjuster?

I'm sure I have seen something like it, perhaps it was a kit or something, but can't think where it was.

I've seen Paul Sellers reverse his No.4 into the pull mode where he has encountered local reverse grain.

Have you used Kanna in your search for one ?
There is some Norris types that look like there intended for the pull stroke
Some German planes has this style too.

A quick search for kanna planes I stumbled on ...

Gerd Fritsche makes an infill based on a Japanese plane.
HNT Gordon has a good guide on adjusting a traditional plane, If I remember correctly.

I think there might be a reason why there is so few
