Potting shed

I am in the process of building a potting shed. The top half of the front of the shed will have three panes of glass.
I wonder if any member has experience of installing an Autovents mechanism on one pane to stop the shed getting too warm These allegedly open and close the window with the heat of the Sun
The theory seems fine but do they work?

Autovents for greenhouses, where they lift a hinged window have been around for years.

Yes, they work.

If you get a decent make they seem to last indefinitely. I have three in a greenhouse still working well after 30+ years.

Thank you for your replies. One other question please for those that already have them. Would it be difficult to connect the mechanism in a self build situation?

Ebay got the cheapest full kit or spare pistons.

Just use wood screws instead of the supplied bolts.
