i cant understand what the user is actually doing except pushing/pulling the router, i'll stick to my scroll saw i think..

Look again...........
The user is putting the router body in the approximate position using the monitor and the actual router is moving inside the body thus correcting the position presumably to within .01mm or there abouts.

That would be absolutely brilliant for doing inlay. So long as it never makes a mistake.....
