Play in Axminster Pillar drill, how much is acceptable ?

I've just bought an refurbished Axminster Pillar drill 1302. I realise this is a low end 'hobby series' machine, but I'm not sure how much rotational play to expect in the chuck shaft spindle. There seems to be about 7 degrees play in my example, this seems to result in very noisy running when not under load.
Too much ? has anyone else seen this on their own one ?
