I am replacing the cables on my pillar drill, from the motor to the switch and the trailing lead to the supply both with rubber flexible lead.

The motor is a 240v single phase 1/3 HP 2.8 fl amp

Would 0.75mm three core, rated 6amp be ok, will its physical strength be suitable (hammer) or should I use something different :?:

Advice please

yes, yes and maybe. PVC sheath might be better as it is more oil resistant.

Thanks for the confirmation. I do prefer the flexibility of the Rubber cable. Exposure of the cable to oil is not an issue in my workshop, but appreciate the comment.

If you drill has a head that goes up and down on the column, make sure you tie the cable back out of the way of it - I renewed the cable on my old Meddings and found that some clown had trapped the cable between the body and the column and very nearly severed it.
