I have a perform CCL lathe that I use for fly rod cork handle turning, but I'd like to turn up some candlesticks in the new year.
Problem I have is the live tailstock has an insert that I need to replace, (lost it actually), it has, or used to have, a flat on one side that a grub scew tightens onto to hold in it place and it is about an inch or so long.
Does anyone have a spare one or know where I can get hold of one?

Cheers,
TC

Assuming you have a chuck, you can turn one up yourself out of brass or aluminium.

Could even make one out of steel if you have a suitable bit of rod or a bolt the correct diameter, soon file a point on it in the lathe.

Hi CHJ,
Unfortunately don't have a chuck as I bought the lathe secondhand without one.
Pity as your idea would make sense if I did.

I'm hoping these are still made/available.
Cheers,
TC

Where are you located ? you don't have it in your profile.

What diameter is the hole in the centre ?

Live just outside Salisbury in Wiltshire.
I'll have to measure the centre when I can get back out into the workshop, (recent op), notice you live in the Cotswolds, where my father still lives between Banbury and Stratford upon Avon.
