I have just returned from Yandles and have now got the right size mandrill.
I put it in the lathe, loaded it with the pre drilled blanks, and away I go.
Oops the blank split.
Not to worry, I have back ups.
Try again, did one but did not look much, have a go at second one, woops split.
I'll stop and have a think about this, try again to morrow.
I did bye some more velvet blanks, looks like plastic to me.
Yandles was great, my wife liked it as well (that's a first), had a nice coffee and a great big slab of cake, the car park was full, that is always a good sign.

I brought other bits as well but not telling....
