HI all, it's the end of the week and I'm going into the shed this weekend, I can't find the barrel trimmer but I want to turn some pens, Panache in particular, other than sanding does anyone have a fool(me)proof way of squaring the blanks to the tubes, I'd considered holding the blank in the jaws and using a skew to turn it square with a very slight relief to mate with the cap/nib/centre band, any one got any other techniques.
Second question, I see lip and spur drill advertised as the best drill for pen blanks, any idea if they are available in imperial sizes.
Thank You Kevin

drill a 7mm hole in some small scraps of hardwood or plastic and turn yourself some mini cone bushes and then as you suggest use the skew to clean the ends. They are also good for when applying finishes because they leave the end exposed.
