Hi fellow woodies everywhere!. I have access to a steady supply of pallets which I have been using as firewood. They are stamped BR which I think may mean Brazil. They are aiso stamped HT which means heat treated, hence no chemicals used.
The deckboards are a softwood which I think may be Radiata pine, whatever it is it's fast growing as the growth rings are up to a centimetre apart!. The stringers (base) are made from a reddish-brown hardwood which is heavy, dense and hard to de-nail. I'm wondering if this hard wood could be planed up and put to some practical use. It seems a shame to burn it if it could be made into useful articles.
So if there's any Brazilian pallet experts out there I look forward to hearing from you!.
