I'm planning on making an outdoor sofa and chair set in time to enjoy the summer but I'm having trouble finding anywhere that sells cushions for outdoor use other than throw cushions.

I can see plenty in the US but has anyone purchased Sofa style cushions for outdoors in the UK? I'm just looking for something similar to what comes on all Rattan sets.

I want to get the cushions sorted first so I can build around their dimensions.

If you just Google "outdoor seat pad " instead of cushion you will find them.

Thanks but not the right thing. These are very small and thin for adding to a chair that doesn't have a cushion.

I'm looking for Sofa cushions, like this.

The other option would be getting some made at an upholstery place. Not cheap though....

Try searching for outdoor furniture and then look for replacement cushions / seats?

This seems the most likely option, Asda sell replacement sets for their furniture and they are much cheaper. Can get seat and back cushions for £20 a pair.

But overall surprised there isn't more options in the UK. In the US all the major retailers sell them.

We bought our ratin (well Ratin looking, actually made from pastic) outdoor furnature from Ikea. They sell the cushions separatly. I'd not leave them outside, to tell the truth, but we bought an outside cushion holder, which works a treat.

If you want to leave them outside you could use something like ripstop nylon or other sail material. I'm sure a local material shop could make then up for you probably cheaper than a specialist furniture upholsterer
