Hi,

I have done a search on the site, but all I can find about oil for maintenance of scroll saws is that I should use a 'light' oil. My scroll saw manual says to use SAE20 oil, but this means nothing to me. I live in France, and am having difficulty working out which oil is 'light'. I have managed to find some 3 in 1 oil - is this OK for the task?

Also, I know there is some sort of wax that can be applied to the table of the saw to enable the work piece to move more smoothly. Can anyone give me the make and name of one of these waxes?

I am travelling to the UK in a couple of weeks, so perhaps I could either buy the oil and the wax while I am over there, or could order it online for delivery to my daughter so that I can bring it back with me.

Many thanks

Chris

I've always considers 3 in 1 oil as light and use it on my stuff?

I use Liberon Lubricating Wax on my cast iron tables.
