Re-arranging my study in preparation for laying the oak floorboards. Computer and all the IT bits and pieces, hubs , SD card reader etc all moved to a new location and reconnect it all up. Big tidy up. Less cables needed. All packed away. All seems tickety-boo.
Gradually as the days pass I get annoying niggles. iPod doesn't seem to connect properly from the hub. Hub all powered up. iPod charging fine. Samsung mobile also plays up ..charges but not talking to the computer. All have to be plugged into a USB socket on the back of the Mac. I have begun to convince myself that the USB hub has gone a bit dodgy and that I need a new one.
Duly arrived, wondered what the USB cable was for..... small connector that matches the one in the hub.... :idea: ...it's the one to connect the hub with the Mac. Look at the old hub
