Hi All,

I am looking to build an Oak garden gate.

But i can’t decide on what glue to use. The oak gate will not be painted or treated in any way and it will have to withstand all that the Great British weather can sling at it

Any thoughts on what glue will hold up the best

Thanks

Gary

Hi,

Titebond 3, gorilla glue are these better then Cascamite?

i made a big garden table 20 years ago out of iroko and on this i used Cascamite, must admit its still holding up and its been out in all weathers and never covered.

just don't know about Oak and Cascamite?

as i said this garden gate will have to stand up to all weathers.

thanks for your help

Gary

Design the glue out. Use oak dowels through the tenons to pin the joints.

Inventor has a great point, but at a push if I had to glue stuff for outside I would use Titebond 3. I used it for my 'coldframe' ;) and it seems to be nice and strong.
