on the headstock there is a pin which locks the pulley to stop it from moving when tightening chucks etc, the pin has becomed wedged between its housing and the pulley, i cant see any way of releasing it?
there is a small bit of rotary movement but not much at all, the pin does protrude but i cant get any thing to either knock it back in to its right position or to move it
Will the pin pull out with pliers? You could then just put a piece of bar in when you want to lock the spindle and remove it again. These spindle locking mechanisms are a PITA when springs break, etc.
unfourtanately not no as there is just no space, ive managed to borrow A Puller from myh mechanic so im hopimg i can pull the pulley of a little and hopefully get it moved, just hoping the pulley doesnt break as its only aluminium
I found a picture of the Nu-Tool lathe and the pin you describe looks to be part of an assembly that screws into the headstock. Can you not just unscrew the assembly and free the pin on the bench?
morning we tried the pulley it worked its out and now up and running again. Thanks for the all the advice, was also just wondering if nutool actually still exists in doncaster as the telephone number is dead. again thanks to all
