Novel dowel maker, in a drill?

Saw this on youtube, made me smile. Easy dowels?

Interesting, maybe you could use finer blades and get a better finish - 1 pass with coarse to get it almost to size and a second pass in a slightly smaller fine blade slot.

Done that using a similar type jig. Works sort of OK but you need a dead straight grained piece of timber otherwise the dowel is all over the place.
