hi, another newby here. I just thought I'd introduce myself. I learnt my trade as a joiner/machinist with a family owned builders merchant. I got the "Bug" after my dad showed me how to use his lathe, when i was about 10, or 12.
I am using a good old mix of stuff in my workshop. A scheppach hm 260 planer and spindle, an old APT 10" table top saw, record lathe, 36", a nu tool 10" bandsaw , APT morticer etc. over the last 20 years, as the machines stopped working, I needed a replacement now and today!
I did use my dad's kity k5, which i thought was extremely good quality and value, all light duty kit, of course but i wouldn't get in the bigger machine and bigger workshop situation, it stops being enjoyable. anything bigger than a door then i went up to a mates on his 3 phase stuff. At the moment i am looking out some oak to make a window, about the same size as a "bullion or bullseye" for home here.
If anyone here would like some help using a stenner bandsaw to cut up a log, setting up or using a six cutter moulding machine, i would probably remember!
apart from that i will probably learn from you people! I love the forklift truck. Regards Rodders
