Newbe - seeking advice please

Morning all.

I have suddenly got the urge to get myself a lathe. I used to do a bit with my granddad but he died years ago. I asked about his lathe but my uncle is using it. So I am looking for recommendations on lathes (and brands to avoid), tools, where to get blanks, etc. I have also been looking at Bandsaws, is there anything else I would need to get started?

I have plenty of space (but not money)
I have ordered the book I saw recommended on another thread on here (wood turning a foundation course) I saw someone mentioned about local groups - how would I find out about them?

any advice and wisdom gratefully received.

Go Have a look at " Home of wood "website From Rye east sussex there blanks ar really good value for money, there are loads of suppliers for blanks but if you just buy a couple the postage kills it, Home of wood seem really competitive
