this is the first thing of this size i have ever taken on and its going to need a lot of work. most of the veneer is there but has come unglued i was wonering what glue people use for veneer for a start!!
I will put some picks up later

I would have thought that hide glue would be best. There are two advantages. First, it's reversible so if you make any cock-ups it won't be a disaster. Also it would make any repairs in the future easier. Second, it doesn't need clamping - which could be difficult with something like a piano.

However, if you've not used it before it would be best to practice first :wink:

I agree about the hide glue. It's brilliant stuff. Messy but easy, you just need a baby's bottle warmer to heat it.

Got any pics you can post so we can see the scale of the problem?

Cheers for that I am going to put some picks up later on tonight most of the veneer is just lifting at the edges but some will need to be replaced been stripping off all the years of varnish today and that makes it look laods better i think they used a sweeping brush to varnish it!!
