I finished my little project with two small cut outs that needed to be filled in bright red, to look like blood. I shall be posting the finished item on my facebook page by lunchtime. Wooden Crafts from Wales. I was wondering though. What I did on the second one was to filled the back with tight bond mixed with scroll saw sawdust from the same piece of wood and again on the front, when dry I sanded it off and was very pleased with the result. I then painted over the two cutouts with Humbrol smooth and again the result was not to bad, although it could have been better. When I do the next one I was thinking of recessing the filler by a couple of mm and then when dry filling the cavity with the Humbrol smooth. What I am not sure about is will the paint, being that thick, dry okay say over 24 hours. I thought it would look really nice if I slightly over filled the cavities to give it a domed effect.
