Hi, thank you for letting me join your group.
I’m a newbie to woodbutchery.
I’m mid fifties and have a long background in telecommunications engineering and mechanical engineering and would like to try my hand at wood turning.
I need some advice on a beginners lathe
I would like to turn bowls /cups not so much spindles.
I like the look of a Charnwood W813 floorstanding ?
Also any recommendations on a 12 inch bandsaw, looking at Record /Charnwood/Axminster , they all seem to have the same generic chassis, there is also Lumberjack bandsaws that look to good to be true.

Any recommendations help or advice appreciated.

Have a look at coronet herald from record power. I find it a great lathe, well suited to bowl turning.
