Just starting another one, this time for a neighbour.

The old deck was a deck of death made by the previous owner from packing creates...3 years old and rotten as you like.

Not only was the old deck falling apart but it also made the garden quite oppressive by is height and dark colour.

We discussed at length levels and whilst steps arent as nice as walking straight out in this instance lowering the deck height would make it more part of the garden.

So a bit of a jump...old deck out along with the crazy concrete walk way around the garden (it went over the road to fill another neighbours fishpond in) Once pulled away an old patio was revealed after some thinking a retaining wall was decided upon...

Getting the legers prepared...packers, joist hangers, and 6mm pilot holes for the Starfix frame fixings. Ive yet to find a perfect method for packing ledgers off the wall. If someone knows of a 10mm packer which is robust and works with a 150mm deep joist that you dont have to buy 50million as a minimum please let me know! :D

We get the wood on Friday so hopefully the build can get a bit further over the weekend.

Plans and cutting list....
