hi everyone,
im both new to this forum and to woodturning.
i recently bought a second hand axminster lathe, but cant seem to find the model. i hope that once i knoz the model i can look up the instruction manual. hopefully one of you will recognise it

Axminster (obviously ) - you could try emailing them the picture and asking.

It looks like an early version of the AWVSL900 but it doesn't look like the head can swivel. As far as I can make out the acronym stands for Axminster Wood Variable Speed Lathe or Axminster Wood Variable Swivel Lathe and the 900 is the capacity between centres.
I agree with phil.p though, it is probably worth sending the photo to Axminster. Pretty sure though the spec will be very similar to the current hobby lathes, and spares will be compatible.

p.s. the person i bought it from said the head does swivel, but he had never tried it so......

This is an Axminster H1000, we introduced them around 1993/94!
