The third and final anomaly that I would like UKworkshop members to help with is the rear of the shoulder on planes made at the Holbrook Plane Manufactory. On 4 of about 10 of the larger moulding planes I have, the sharp corner has been rounded off. These planes were owned by a variety of different owners so I don't think they're owner modified, and surely the planes I have by other Bristol makers would have this if this was fashionable?). Are there other manufacturers who did this?

Hi Pete

I've looked through all my wider planes where this might have been done and have found only one. It's this small ovolo by Greenslade:

Wrt Peculiarity #2, its mouth is cut straight (well, a bit wonky, but only one angle):

Thanks again Andy. This plane is definitely from the 1840 - 1860 period, which would fit in with the period of my Holbrook planes. Maybe a particular journeyman planemaker or sub-contractor working in Bristol?
