Hi all......I have a set of small/micro hamlet Woodturning tools...presuming they are spindle gouges.

On look g at them I think they have been ground rather too much, the bevel angles are what would call low..
The smallest gouge is 3mm.
I’m wondering what sort of bevel angle they should be ground to.

Cheers Greg....they do tend to catch somewhat as is....I thnk they have been really overdone in past...unless they have been used on softer woods...
 
If you grind them to the same angle as your bigger tools, they will behave in the same way so you will be less likely to get catches. There isn't a right or wrong angle, it's what works for you.
