I seem to be posting quite a few electrically related topics at the moment. When I turn my Metabo PT off after using it. It makes a strange pulsing noise as the block brakes. After the block has stopped the machine makes a strange pulsing noise and the lights in the garage seem to flicker in line with the pulsing.

No idea what is going on and it has always done it, but being of a curious nature I am keen to understand whether it's normal or whether a fault is developing

Thanks

One way to stop a AC motor is with pulses of DC so it could be the breaking working, not sure if it should dim your lights, do you have a good supply to your garage?

Pete

My one does the exact same and i have an upgraded power supply very slight flickering on my flurocent tubes.

Power supply to garage is 40 amp, and a 16mm cable. It is exactly as Ring states. Slight flickering of the fluorescent lights.

I think it is nothing to worry about, but would love to understand the science behind it
