I have the same problem.

For what it's worth, I have the 3612CX model and rate it very highly. I use it all the time as my 'freehand' router though, with the three-second brake and big motor, it would make a good choice for table use as well. Only thing I don't like is the side fence and how inconveniently short the bars are! :x
