making pens

hi all
i keep hearing about making pens 8) my question is what would you need to make pens ,

Hi Pip it depends how many you want to make if you are just trying it out then you will probably have every thing you need you will need a dead center and a revolving center and a Pr of calipers to measure the pen components and turn the blank to that size but if you are going to make loads then you will want a mandrel http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-ax ... rod802501/ and bushes to fit the pen kit of your choice and of course tools which is a personel choice I use a rouging gouge and a skew and of course a finish of your choice I use hut crystal
