I am making a computer desk for my son and am thinking of making the drawers from 12mm oak veneered mdf with a solid oak front screwed onto the drawer box.

My question is what to do with the cut edges of the veneered mdf?

You could just sand well taking the sharp edges off and polish as with the rest of the drawer. Oak and MDF are often very similar colours and wouldn't look to bad, and if you were to edge them with veneer it may just get knocked off and spoil your good work any way.

I see only four options here really. One has already been mentioned (leave it and polish). The second is veneer it. The third is iron-on edging tape. And the fourth is a real wood lipping 5-10mm thick.
