Making dowels

I searched under dowel jigs, when I was looking for ideas, not very original but it worked. I cannot remember the poster but it was titled something like "dowel jig made out of scrap and a jigsaw blade", which says it all really.

There are lots of other ideas for dowel jigs on the tube but that struck me as the simplest for me to throw together and it worked.

As an update….I have just made several lengths of Ash dowel using the "Izzy Swan method". Simple and effective.. Geoff

Steve, your method is great! I think your videos are excellent and a must have for every woodworker. I do miss your jumper from the first videos, though.

For anyone else, if you don't already have the entire set of Steve's DVDs, get them. You'll be happy you did.
