I wonder if any Maguire Wagon Vice users on here may be able to help me?
I've fitted the above vice to a workbench for my personal use that is nearing completion.
However the vice seems very tight to use, it did feel tight when I tried it before fitting to the bench.
Everything looks to be fitted correctly as per instructions, I've taken the screw thread and nut block back out again and checked that they work freely, which they do. Although I did notice some small bits of swarf in the internal thread of the nut block.
Is it worth trying to add some lubricant to the two guide rods that the sliding carriage moves along to see if it would aid free movement?
It doesn't mention this in the sparse instructions, but im clutching at straws at the moment.
Any useful advice is appreciated.

Hi Roughcut, I've just been directed to this post and I'm very sorry to hear that you've had a difficulty. If you would like to send me an email we would be more than happy to offer you advice with this. We have a check list of suggestions to go through with your installation which might help solve the problem. Richard test fits every vice in to a mock up bench top here to check them before they go out, so I feel confident we can get this sorted for you.
All the best,
Helen (Maguire Workbenches)
